Between August 1969 and January 1982, D.Ü.T.F. The file notes of 186 patients with colon and rectal cancer hospitalized in the General Surgery Clinic were examined. Surgical intervention was performed in 156 of these, and surgical treatment was not performed in 30 of them. In our cases, 55.9% of the lesion was found in the rectum or rectosigmoid, 26.8% in the right colon and 17.3% in the left colon. Carcinoma was found to be non-curable in 98 and curable in 58 of 156 patients. Radical surgery was performed in 58 patients and palliative surgery in 98 patients. Overall mortality rate in 156 patients was 26.2%. Eighty-nine colon cancer patients applied to our clinic without an emergency, 60 of them cancer is non-curable and postoperative mortality was 23.3% and cancer was curable in 29 and 10.3%.
