Subclavian venous catheterization, which became popular with the description of Aubaniac for the first time in 1952, is now routinely used for parenteral fluid therapy, central venous pressure measurement and pace-maker placement. In addition to its easy applicability, the procedure appears to be an intervention that can lead to complications that can threaten the patient's life if technical rules are not followed and adequate control is not performed.
