Between 1983 and 1990, 182 patients with 189 tibial shaft fracture were diagnosed al the Department of Orthopaeclics and Traumatology in the Faculty of Medicine of Selçuk University. The mean age was 36 years with a range of 13 to 84 years. A hundred and seventy five patients had unilateral and 7 patient bilateral tibial shaft fracture. 165 tibial shaft fracture in 158 patients had been folowed and evaluated for treatment results. nese patients were followed at least a duration until the fracture were healed clinically and radiographically. A highly satisfacwry results were obtained with opera and closed treatment.
