The study was carried out on thı-ee groups of rats as fallows: Control group, alcohol fed group and pair - fed group. The alcohol group was fed for 12 days with a diet containing 4,5g1kgiday ethyl alcohol. The pair fed group was giren glııco..ve (7.88 glkglgün) whi•h calory level was equal to the ealory level of alcohol giren to the second group. At the end of the jeeding period, fas-ting serum glucose, triglycerid, phospholipid and jree fatty acid leveis were measured in the serum of those three groups. The postınortal histological changes ira liver, kidneys„rtomach, spleen and lung were examined bir light microscopy. Triglycerid, phospholipid and fi-ee faty acid levels of alcohol group were higheı- than those of conwol and pair -feci group. Verv common high mitotic activity (in the' early pro-phase) in the hepatocytes at the peripheral of the elassical lobules, semidiffilse hemorrhagies in the glomerıdes and eıythrocytes infiltrated into the intertubuler area were seen at the light microscopic e_x-amination of the liver and kidney specimen.s of al-cohol giyen group. it concluded that the level of triglycerid, phospholipid and free fatty acid increase in serum due tü alcohol intake. it is supposed that th.e increase is not related with alcohol calory but it may be related with general effect of alcohol on nıe-tabolic activity of human Body.
