Fifteen pregnant women with vulvovaginal candidiasis and 10 healthy pregnant women participated in the study. Serum zinc levels, leukocyte counts and lymphocyte ratios were measured, Zina levels in pregnants with vulvovaginal candidiasis were significantly lower than controls (62.36±8.26 pg/dI and 80.11-± 7.15 i_ıg/d1, res-pectively) (P<0.001). Similarly leukocyte counts (7300±1927 mm3 and 9700±803mm3, respectively) and lymphocyte ratios (16.09±4.43% and 22.26-±2.4%, respectively) were lower in pregnants with vulvovaginal can-didiasis (p<0.05). The results of this study showed a decrease in serum zina levels and lymphocyte ratios in preg-nant women with vulvovaginal candidiasis. ln conclusion, zinc deficiency might contribute to suppression of cağ-tutar immunity in vulvovaginal candidiasis.
