The Analaysis Of Contraceptive Methods As Retrospective

In this study it is aimed to examine the contraceptive methods
that the patients who applied to Clinic of Obstetricsand Gynecology
in AhiEvran University Training and Research Hospital (AEUTRH)
preferredand the demographic features of the women who got this
service. The notes of 904 cases that applied for family planning
between May, 2012 and May, 2013 were examined retrospectively
in the study. Percentage, mean and chi-square test are used in the
statistical analysis of the datum. According to the findings the most
common way the women preferred is the intra uterine devicewith
57.7%. After the intra uterine device it follows respectively condom
(23.1%) and oral contraceptive (12.2%). 7.0% of the women have
not preferred any methods. It has been found out that regardless of
age, state of education and accommodationunitthe women mostly use
RIAone of the modern methods. However, it has been ascertained
that as the time passes the frequency of using oral contraceptive
decreases (p<0.05). In parallel with these findingsit is essential to
provide the women withmore effective family planning servicesand to
raise women’s awareness about the modern contraceptive methods.
