In this study, lumbar epidural analgesia was applied during the labor by giving 0.25% of bu-pivacain to 20 cases and 0.125% bupivacain +50 microgram fentanyl to other 20 cases. A control group consisted of 20 cases had no analgesia be-fare labor. The effect of lumbar epidural analgesia on the first and second stage of labor and kind of the delivery were irıvestigated. It was believed that the delivery could be at a better condition when the low concentration 0.125%bupivacain + 50 microgram fentanyl were administered during the labor and it would be app-ropriate to use it routinely in clinics.
