We hospitalized and ireated 50 patients with burn injuries between 1983 and 1989. Of diem, 35 were children and 15 were adult. Twenty six children were in first decade. Of 50 patients, 34 adrnitted to the hospital early and 16 lately. Skin byopsies were useful in differential diagnosis of second and therd degree burn. There were second degree burn in 22 patients, third degree in 5 and second and third degree in 7. We applied surgical intervention to 27 patients and 5 early tangential excision and pulverised 10 percent of silver nitrate in early cases. Of 50 patients, 3 died and 3 developed psychiatric disorders requiring treatment. in order to prevent hyperirophic burn scar and contracture we used splint and pressure garrnents.
