The Evaluation of Risk Factors in İschemic Stroke

Aim: The aim of this study was to contribute to the data about the ischemic stroke epidemiology. Material and method: We analyzed 99 patients with ischemic stroke regarding the stroke risk factors. The patients and the controls were compared in respect to stroke risk factors. Results: Hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and cigarette smoking was statistically significant as a risk factor in the stroke group compared with the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia have not been found as significant risk factors in patients with stroke when compared with the control group (P>0.05).
