Sexually transmitted diseases being the most common communicable ones all over the world have steadily increased in incidence for the past two dec-ades. The causative agents are able to spread not only by sexual but indirect contact as well. In Konya, we searched for serological markers of Ilerpes genitalis, CMV, 11BV, AIDS, Syphilis and investigated pathogen microorganisms isolated from vaginal specimens of 95 prostitues and 71 women consisting up the control group. Despite no signıficancy established between anti 111V-1, RPR, 11BeAg, CMV-IgM and IISV-IgM lev-els, we established a significant correlation between the levels of 1lBsAg, anti-118s, anti-IIBe, CMV-IgG and 11SV-IgG. Microorganisms isolated from vaginal specimens of prostitues were as follows; S.aureus 34.78%, E.coli 20.29%, Enterococci 17.39%, Lactobacilli 15.94%, C.albicans 4.35%, enterobacteria 2.90%, Corynebacteria 2.90% and Klebsialk spp. bacteria 1.45%.
