This study was performed among high school and university students in Konya hetween 1 May 1996-31 December 1996. Totally 1922, 872 (45.4 %) lemak, 1050 (54.6%) male students were luded in the study. Composed International Di-agnose Interwiev (CIDI) was applied to subjects. According to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria 2.5 % of students were diagnosed as OCD Although there was no relation hetween OCD and sex (p<0.05), the prevalance of OCD was ..signıticantly higher in low economic status (p<0.05), subject with family his-tory of OCD in first-degree relatives (p<0.05) and in cases of cigarette smoking and alcohol-drug ahuse (p<0.01).
