They were admitted to the va-rious clinics of Medical School of Selcuk University from May to July. 1991 and diagnosed pat-hologically. Of them 11 were anemic and 30 non anemic. Serum erythropoietin levels of the anemic and non-anemic patients were 17.19110.54 mUlml and 5.1011.12 mUlml respectively. Although the clic firence between the two groups was statistically sig-nificant (p<0.01), erythropoietin level of anemic pa-tients was between normal range for healty people. Therefore, it was concluded that although eryt-hropietin of cancer patients with anemia was inc-reased, that increase was not enough to correct ane-mia so, for management of anemic patients with cancer, exogen supply of erythropoietin might be considered.
