Thirty patients having acute herpetic neuralgia were admitted to this stucly. The patients were divided inio iwo groups randomly. One of the group was ireated with TENS while the other was treated with diadynamic (DD) currents. Both groups were received their treatments once a day or 5 times a week for two weeks. One group received convenlional type TENS for 30 minutes a day. The other group received diphase fix and long period modulations at 3 minutes intervals totalling 6 minutes a day. Roth therapeutical procedures started ta be effective significantly after their third session (p<0.001). Roth therapy found to be equally effective al the end of tenth session. Ilowever, during 3 months follow-up period TENS was found to be significanily rnore effective than DD current (p<0.05) according to fare scale. This difference observed between the groups weren't clear in visual analogy scale. The side effectes of both t•eatment weren't observed arnong the patients.
