Many studies have been conducted to prevent tetany crises due to hypocalcemia occurring after parathyroidectomy. These can be listed as, from the simplest to the most complicated, intravenous calcitherapy, use of parathyroid hormone extracts, application of parathyroid grafts. The fact that graft implantations, which are considered to be the most advanced method, are lifeless and cause allergic reactions have led researchers to turn to the portacaval anastomosis method to drain immune antigens. Meanwhile, it has been observed that the porta-caval anastomosis has a positive effect on the blood calcium level in animals with parathyroidectomy and at the same time, the hypocalcemia is eliminated with a calcium-rich diet.
