This study was aimed to evaluate our clinical experience and
results of transcatheter closure of patent ductus arteriosus patients
in our clinic between June 2011 and November 2013. Atotal of 21
patients (16 female, 5 male) undergoing transcatheter patent ductus
arteriosus closure procedure with mean age 5.4 (9 months and-17
years-old) were included in this study retrospectively. Transcatheter
patent ductus arteriosus closure procedure was successfully
performed in 21 patients (100%) without any complication like device
erosion, arrythmia, thrombosis or residual shunt during follow-up.
Amplatzer ductal occluder 1 device was used in 11 patients, Amplatzer
ductal occluder 2 device was used in 9 patients and MemoPart PDA
Occluder device was used in one patient. Percutaneous closure of
patent ductus arteriosus defects with occlusive devices is safe and
effective procedure with a high success rate and less complications.
