Traumatic Total Hepatic Hernia To The Right Thorax

A 14 - year-old boy was admitted to the in-tensive care unit (ICU) of the Seljuk University Hos-pital because of a traffic accident. He had a chest tube in the middle axiller line of his right thorax on the 8 th. intercostal space. Pulmonary parenchym of the right lung had closed at his chest roentgenogram and ultrasonografi. This patient required an emer-gency operation with his symptoms and laboratory findings. Emergency thoracotomy was performed in the patient which had led to a tear in the right side of diaphragm and intrathoracic migration of the liver, hepatic filexura of the colon and the omentum were seen. Hepatic flexura of the colon had got two perforations. They have to he attentive for diagnosis and treatment after thoracoabdominal blunt trauma. Never forget that some manipulations to diagnosis or treatment may make abdominal viscera destroy in the chest.
