Treatment Of Giant Cystic Hygroma: Three Cases Report

Cystic hygroma is a hamartomatou.s lesion of lymphatic origins. It is a benign tumor that appear to arise from congenital malformation of the lym-phatic resulting in blockage of lymphatic flow. It has a tendency to infiltrate and surround adjacent tissues and vital organs. Respiratory distress, hem-orrhage and sepsis are major complications of giant cystic hygroma. Total exicion of this benign tumor is sometimes impossible. Alternative treatment to sur-gery is investigated. In this report three cases of the cervical (n=1) and cervicoaxillary (n=2) cystic hy-groma that were treated at the Department of ►e-diatric.
