Use of Aprotinin in Decortication Surgery

40 patients who underwent decortication surgery in Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic were evaluated per pair and postoperatively, aprotinin was applied to 20 patients and the amount of bleeding from the postoperative drains was compared. The average amount of drainage in the aprotinin group was 210 + 142 cc. And 562.5 + 230 cc in the control group. It was emphasized that the results were statistically significant and the use of aprotinin reduced homologous blood transfusion and protected from complications.
