It is thought that magnesium deficiency may also play a role among etiological factors in patients with Essential Hypertension, and therefore, in this study we planned, the role of intracellular and extracellular changes in .1 ', 1g levels in essential hypertension was investigated by determining Mg levels in serum, erythrocyte and urine of patients with Essential Hypertension. The Mg level was found to be lower in all three materials in essential hypertensive patients who did not use antihypertensive drugs compared to healthy individuals, and the deficiency was found to be statistically significant (P <0.001). On the other hand, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference (P> 0.05) between the values found in healthy individuals and those found in patients with essential blood pressure taking antihypertensive drugs. In the light of current literature information, as seen in some patients with essential hypertension, an increase in aldosterone or aldosterone benri levels may lead to Mg deficiency. This deficiency can also lead to hyperexcitability in vascular smooth muscle as well as increased noradrenaline release at the neuroeffector junction.
