Congenital factor VII (FVII) deficiency is an uncommon bleeding
disorder with an estimated incidence of 1/300.000-1/500.000.
Congenital Factor VII deficiency is an otosomal recessively inherited
and 0.5% of all congenital coagulation disorders. Factor 7 deficiency
is the fourth of all congenital factor deficiencies in the Factor 8, Factor
9, and lack of the Von Willebrand Factor. It affects men and women
in the same proportions. Although there is no correlation between
FVII level and bleeding risk. An important part of the patients are
asymptomatic until advanced age, often by chance, is investigating
the bleeding parameters, only PT’s long, APTT is normal due to the
received diagnosis. Fresh frozen plasma (FFP), FVII, prothrombin
complex concentrates (PCC), plasma-derived factor VII (pdFVII);
recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa) are used for prophylaxis
or treatment of bleeding. In this case, a pregnant woman at term
which her first pregnancy was resulting in vaginal childbirth without
any problem, but factor 7 deficiency was detected in her second
pregnancy and there was also no problem to term is presented to
cesarean operation with recombinant activated factor FVII for the
preparation and post-operative management.
