Vestibular examination was performed on 47 amateur boxers with a test battery including neurological, electroencephalographic and minimal balance tests. Dysrhythmia was observed on electroencephalography (EEG) in 38.29% of the patients in whom no neurological finding could be obtained at clinical level. This finding was consistent with the literature information. Vestibular tests showed signs of decreased vestibular sensitivity, which was evident in the right labyrinth. These findings were discussed with the literature on biomechanics of chronic traumatic encephalopathy syndrome (fist drunkenness). It was concluded that vestibular tests may be important for the detection of this syndrome at a subclinical level and for early warning.
