In this study, It was made the short intestine by performing the massive resection including ileocecal valve in 20 dogs and then it was carried out new ile-ocecal valve model using jejunal flap. The dogs di-vided two groups. It was made jejunocolostomy in first group and a new ileocecal valve model with jej-unocolostomy in second group. At the end of postoperative second month, it was one more measured üs weights, then intraluminary pressures in proximal and distal paris of anastomosis were measured and specimens were taken for colony counts and colonographic study was performed by barium. While mean weight loss was 24.9% in first group, it was 11.4 % in second group. The dillerenee between the weight loss values of two groups was statistically significant (p<0.01). While the mean dıfference of pressure values was 0.89±0.78 cm. Water in first group, It was 6.00i-0.94 cm. Water in secont group. The difference between the pressure gradients was statistically sig-nıficant (p<0.01). There was tube Ilke apperance and the increased peristaltic waves al the jejunal side, in colonographic radyograms. We believe that the new valve model performed by us may be used during the first operation in short bowel syndrome unable to save the ileocecal valve.
