Purpose: İn this study, we aimed to determine the measurements and the relation betvveen craniofacial morpho- logy and orbita in full term, prematüre nevvborns and nevvborn with low birth vveight. Materials and method: We vvere studied 60 prematüre nevvborns (Male 30, Female 30) who vvere aged betvveen 32 and 37 post menstrual vveek, and 60 full term nevvborns (Male 30, Female 30), and 60 nevvborn with low birth vveight (Male 30, Female 30). İn ali cases, head circumference, head length, head vvidth, face height, face vvidth, orbita height, orbita vvidth, oropalpebral length and cantal index vvere measured. Average of measurements of cranio-facial and orbita vvere calculated in the ali cases. Results: The measurements of craniofacial and orbita vvere statistically significantly dif- ferent betvveen prematüre and full term infants in vvhom it was greater than prematüre infants (p<0.001). The re vvere differences in the measurements of craniofacial and orbita betvveen sexes. A significant positive correlation betvveen the craniofacial and orbita dimensions was found in prematüre nevvborns and nevvborn with low birth vveight (p<0.001). There was negative correlation betvveen head vvidth and orbita vvidth in full term nevvborns. Conclusions: VVith more expressions of the parameter of craniofacial and orbita at prematüre and full term nevv borns and nevvborn with lovv birth vveight, more Information about individual variations vvill be given. Knovvledge about normal variations in craniofacial and orbita dimensions can help in diagnosis of pathologies or anomaly of crania-facial skeleton development.
