1989-1990 yıllarında Benign Prostat Hiperplazisi (BPH) nedeniyle müracaat eden, klinik ve labo-, ' ratuar tetkikleri ile BP11 teşhisi konan 30 erkek hasta ve kontrol grubu olarak seçilen 16 yetişkin er-kekte, 13P11 efyolojisinde rol oynadığı düşünülen hormonların serutrıdaki seviyeleri ölçüldü. Testoste-ron, östradiol, luteinize hormon (LH) ve yaşın BN] eiyolojisinde önemli rolleri olduğu tespit edildi.
