Üst hava yolu tıkanıklığı sonrası gelişen akciğer ödemi önceden tahmin edilemeyen nadir bir klinik durumdur. Bu çalışmada bir olgu nedeniyle negatif basınçlı akciğer ödeminde (NBAÖ) etyoloji, patofizyoloji, teşhis ve tedavi yöntemlerinin tartışılması amaçlandı. Genel anestezi altında jinekolojik cerrahi geçiren bir hastada, ekstübasyon sonrası oluşan laringospazmın çözülmesinin ardından NBAÖ gelişmiştir. NBAÖ’ de erken teşhis ve tedavi, mortalite ve morbiditeyi etkileyebilmektedir.
