Fareler üzerinde yapılan bu çalışmada acetaminophen'in hepatotoksik etkilerine karşı cimetidin'in etkileri incelendi. Cimetidin'in aceta minophen hepatotoksisitesine karşı koruyucu olduğu bulundu. intraperitoneal yoldan acetaminophen verilen hayvanlara aynı yoldan cimetidine verildiğinde gerek serum transaminaz düzeylerindeki yükselmenin, gerekse karaciğerde meydana gelen zedelenmenin daha az düzeyde olduğu bulundu.
