Bu çalışmada, gebelikte ve doğumdan sonra rat uterusunda mast hücre sayısı araştırıldı. Sonuçta, gebeliğin 18. gününde 5. gündekinden çok fazla mast hücresi ve postnatal 1. günde yine yüksek sayıda mast hücresi olduğu tesbit edildi. Bu hücrelerin gebe-lik-doğum-postpartum,period fizyolojisi ile ilişkili olabileceği düşünüldü.
