Gebelerde travma nonobstetrik maternal-fetal mortalite ve morbiditeden sorumludur. Gebelikte travmaya yaklaşım gebe olmayanlara benzemekle birlikte gebelikte olan fizyolojik değişiklikleri bilerek hastaya yaklaşılmalı ve gelişebilecek obstetrik komplikasyonlara zamanında önlem alınmalı ve bu komplikasyonların maternal mortalite ve morbiditeyi de etkileyebileceği unutulmamalıdır.
