Kronik idyopatik konstipasyon tanesi konan ve uzun yıllar hekim kontrolündeki medikal tedaviden yararlanmayan 4 hastaya cerrahi tedavi uygulandı. Yakınmaları ortalama 10 yılı kapsamaktaydı. Yine ortalama 12 günde bir, ilaç kullanarak, geç ve güç defekasyon yapıyorlardı. 3 hastaya sigrnoidektomi, birine de sol hemikolektomi uygulandı. Postoperatif erken ve geç dönemlerde defekasyon işlevinde önemli düzelmeler görüldü.
