Çocuklarda özofagusta akalazya, özellikle bir yaşın altında oldukça nadir ve teşhisi zor bir lezyondur. On bir aylık bir kız çocuğu endoskopik balon dilatasyonuyla başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edildi. Baryumlu grafide özofagus kali­ bresi normale döndü ve komplikasyon gelişmedi. On iki aylık takip sonrasında kusma, beslenme sorunu ve rekür- rens gözlenmedi.
