Ayak kemiklerindeki osteoid osteomanın teşhisinde güçlükler ve gecikmeler görülebilmektedir. Bu makalede, daha önce ayak eklemlerinde artrit olduğu düşünülen ve topuğunda ağrı şikayeti olan 12 yaşında bir hastadaki kalkaneusu tutan, nadir bir ostejid osteoma vakası takdim edildi. Radyografisinde, kalkaneusta fokal bir sklerotik alan vardı. Kesin osteoid osteorna teşhisi ancak Tc 99 kemik sintigrafisi ve komputerize tomogram ile konuldu. Bu lezyon cerrahi olarak rezeke edilerek çıkarıldı ve hastanın ağrıları kalmadı.
