25.5.1985 - 30.12.1985 tarihleri arasında Selçuk Üniversitesi Tıp Fa-kültesi Radyoloji Anabilim Dalında 391 hasta US (Ultrasonografi) ile incelenmiştir. Yirmi üç hastada karaciğerde, 1 hastada karaciğer ve karında, 1 hastada karaciğer ve sol böbrekte lokalize olmuş kist hidatik, 20 hastada karaciğerde bağ dokusu artışı, asit ve spnomegali ile karakterize karaciğer sirozu ve 8 hastada karaciğerde solid (tümöral) lezyon tespit edildi. Bu çalışmada US bulguları ile ameliyat bulguları karşılaştırıldı. Kist hidatik tanısı konularak ameliyat yapı/an hastalarda US'nin teşhis doğruluğu %100 dür. Diğer hastalarda US, klinik teşhis çalışmalarına ve ameliyat endikasyonu koymada rehberlik etmiştir.
