Echinococcus granulosus’un etken olduğu hidatik kisti, özellikle hayvancılığın yaygın olduğu bölgelerde endemiktir. Öncelikle tutulan organ karaciğer olsa da, ekinokkoz vücudun her yerinde görülebilir. Olgu sunumu, ülkemizde endemik olarak görülen kist hidatik hastalığının, primer olarak intraperitonealkavitede tutulum yapabileceğini ve bu durumun akut mekanik intestinalobstruksiyon tablosu ile prezante olabileceğini vurgulamaktadır.
