Escherichia coli 0157:117 hemorojik kolit, he-nzolitik iiremi sendromu ye trombotik trom-hositopenik purpuraya eslik edehilen ye sorbitolli fermente etmeyen yeni tanimlanan hir patojendir. Bu calzymada 919 dub orneginde SMAC (Sorhitol Mac,Conkey Agar) kullamlarak sorbitolii fermente etmeyen mikroorganizma srkltgt ara§Prilmistir. Top-lam 15(%1.6) sorbitolii _temente etmeyen bakteri saptanmqur. Bu hakteriler icinde E. coli 0157.H7 supina rastlanmannshr. Bu bakterilerin (%0.8) nongroup E. coli 0157: H7, 6'sz (%0.6) proteus spp. ye 1'i %00.1 pseudomonas spp. olarak tanımlanmıştır.
