Son zamanlarda yapılan klinik gözlemler ve hay-van deneyleri immun cevap ve çeşitli mekanizma-larının kısmen nöroendolcrin sistem (NES) tarafından düzenlendiğini göstermiştir (1). Immun sistem (IS) ile NES arasındaki etkileşme karşılıklıdır. İS ve NES arasındaki ilişkiler ortak reseptör ve mo-leküllerden (hormonlardan) kaynaklanır. İS, santral sinir sistemi tarafından tanınmayan (nonkognitif) stimulusları (bakteri, virus, antijen gibi) sezme gücüne sahiptir.
