Peyronie hastaligt, ismini 1743'de ya§ami4 olan Fransa Krali XV. Lui'nin cerrahi Francois de la Peyronie'den airnitir. Hastalikta, tunika albugineanm korpus kavernosumu cevreledigi ktstrnlarda ce§itli nedenlere bagli olarak skar dokusu olu§makta (plak), bu da tutulmu4 plan krsimda elastasite kaybma, dolayisiyla ereksiyon esnasinda o kisirnda biikiilrneye neden olmaktathr. Yapilan ara§tirmalarda insidensi %1 olarak belirlenmi4 olan hastalik daha. cok orta ya§li hastalarda gorulur. Genclerde ye cok ya§hlarda nadirdir. Siyahlarda az, dogulularda ise hemen hemen hic gortilmernektedir
