Tıp I diabetes mellituslu çocuklarda serum çinko seviyelerindeki değişiklikleri incelemek üzere 23 hasta ve 16 kontrol grubunda elde edilen değerleri karşılaştırdık. Diabetik grupta ortalama serum çinko seviyesi 78.00 -T_4.016 ugr/100 ml, kontrol grubunda ise ortalama 76.875-T-3.366 ugr/100 ml. bulundu. iki grup arasındaki farklılık istatistiki olarak önemsiz idi (P>0.05).
