Tükrük bezi tümörleri nadirdir ve çoğunlukla parotis bezinde gelişirler. Minör tükrük bezi tümörleri, majör tükrük bezi tümörlerinden yaklaşık 10 kez daha az görülürler. Buna karşın, malignite insidansları daha yüksektir. Malign minör tükrük bezi tümörleri en sık sert damakta gelişir. Bunu dil kökü lokalizasyonu izler. Histopatolojik olarak çoğunluğunu adenoid kistik karsinom ve mukoepidermoid karsinom oluşturur. Bu çalışmada, dil kökünde adenoid kistik karsinom tanısı alan 53 yaşındaki bir bayan hasta, nadir bir olgu olması nedeniyle sunulmuştur. Literatür göz den geçirilerek tümörün karakteristikleri tartışılmıştır.
Salivary gland tumours are rare, and majority occur in the parotid gland. Minör salivary gland tumors are approx- imately 10 times less frequent than the majör salivary gland tumors. However they have a higher incidence of malignancy. The most common site of malignant minör salivary gland tumors is the hard palate. The base of tongue is the second common site. The majority of these tumours are adenoid cystic carcinoma and mucoepider- moid carcinoma. We present here a 53-year-old female with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the base of the tongue as a rare case. The literatüre was revievved and characteristics of this tümör are discussed

Tiroid dokusunun embriyolojik gelişimi esnasında tiroglossal
kanal boyunca migrasyonunda yetersizlik ektopik tiroid ile sonuçlanır.
Lingual tiroid en sık ektopik yerleşimdir. Genellikle asemptomatik
olmakla birlikte normal tiroid dokusunda görülen adenom, hiperplazi,
inflamasyon ve malignite gibi durumlar ektopik doku için de söz
konusu olabilir. Bu yazıda ultrasonografik olarak normal yerleşimde
tiroid dokusu saptanmayan, sintigrafi ile dil kökü yerleşimli tiroidi
olduğunu tespit edip, hipotiroidi sebebi ile replasman tedavisi
başladığımız ve takibe aldığımız bir hastamızı nadir görülmesi sebebi
ile bildirmek istedik.
Thyroid ectopy is caused by failure of the descent of thyroid tissue
through thyroglossal duct during embryological development. Base of
the tongue is the most common ectopic localisation of thyroid gland.
It is usually asympthomatic. Adenoma, hyperplasia, inflammation,
malignancy similarly can be seen in ectopic thyroid tissue, as may
occur in normal thyroid tissue. In this report, we present the case who
has no thyroid tissue on normal localisation, searched for ectopic
localisation with scintigraphycally; treated for hypothyroidism and
followed.
